The profession of JOURNALISM is undergoing tremendous change at the moment in the UK and throughout the world.
That presents a lot of challenges for journalists, would-be journalists and MA journalism students, but also opportunities for people trying to start careers in this fantastically rewarding and exciting profession.
The brand new MA Journalism course at Winchester is designed to bring the practice of magazine, newspaper and broadcast journalism right up to date, and in some ways it is "ahead of the game" pioneering the changes that will be adopted by broadcasters, newspaper and magazine publishing groups over the next few years. All these aspects of the profession are studied as part of the same masters course in journalism.
The advantage of studying for a masters of MA journalism at Winchester is that it is new, has quickly established a reputation with the industry and that it is able to pioneer the journalism production techniques of the new fully converged journalism age.
This is a new course and it is being developed under the leadership of one of the most experienced teaching teams in the country, with advice and encouragement from the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC). The BJTC already validates journalism courses at Winchester University. The new masters programme has already received the backing of leading journalists.
