SEMESTER ONE (PG Certificate in Journalism)

INTRODUCTION TO JOURNALISM

NEWS PRODUCTION AND PRESENTATION

JOURNALISM THEORY

After completing these modules you will have been taught how to work as a journalist and will be certified as such. Some students may leave at this point with a Postgraduate Certificate in Journalism (BJTC)*.

SEMESTER TWO (PG Diploma in Journalism)

SOLO DOCUMENTARY/FEATURES PROJECT (Student Directed Media Project)

LIVE PRODUCTION (Winchester News Online)

After completing these modules you will have had considerable further study of journalism and will have done a work attachment and had a lot of experience of working with minimal supervision in a realistic newsroom simulation (Winchester News Online). Many students will leave leave at this point with a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism (BJTC). Others will continue through the summer to complete the more purely academic Masters level qualification.
